Facebook is littered with pointless applications, which make it impossible to see the valuble content on people's profiles (Wall, Pictures, etc.). Using Greasemonkey and 'UnFuck Facebook' in Firefox hides all the meaningless content, and clears up the layout.
You will need Firefox (I have 2.0.0.12), Greasemonkey, and the UnFuck Facebook greasemonkey script. Install the Greasemonkey extension first, then download the script from userscripts.org. Now open Facebook in the browser, and view any profile to see the changes. Facebook is now useable again, what's more, you will never get any requests to add an application. If, for some reason the script didnt install correctly, and you see no difference on facebook, right click on the greasemonkey icon in the system tray (the small smiling monkey), and UnFuck Facebook should be listed and selected on the context menu.
